What this is

A volunteer-run platform for Kenyans living, studying and working in South Korea. It is free, it is open to every Kenyan in the country regardless of affiliation, and it does not charge for anything.

Two things happen here. The first is community: events, news, photos, and a register that tells us how many of us there actually are and where. The second is the consular desk — guidance on Korean visas and Kenyan consular process, plus a tracked request queue for when reading a page isn't enough.

What this is not

It is not the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Seoul. We work alongside the mission, and we forward cases to it, but we do not issue passports, visas or travel documents, and nothing published here overrides an official decision.

That distinction matters more than it might sound. A community site carrying immigration guidance can do real harm by implying authority it hasn't got — so every piece of consular content on this site shows its source and the date a volunteer last checked it, and anything more than six months old is flagged as needing review rather than presented as current.

Why it was rebuilt

The community's previous site had the right intentions and the wrong foundations. Events were typed into the page template, so nobody without a developer could add one. The contact address was a placeholder. Enquiries went to a shared inbox and, often, nowhere.

This version fixes the structural problem rather than the surface one: content lives in a database that community administrators edit themselves, and every consular enquiry gets a reference number, an owner, and a status the person who raised it can check without asking anyone.
