What we collect

If you register: your name and email, and whatever else you choose to add — phone, city in Korea, home county, visa series, occupation, arrival date, and an emergency contact.

If you raise a consular request: your name, email, an optional phone number, and the description you write.

Automatically:aggregate page analytics through Vercel. No advertising trackers, and no third-party ad network — the site this replaced ran Google AdSense on a community non-profit, and we don't.

What we do with it

  • Send you event invitations and community news, if you want them.
  • Handle your consular request, including forwarding it to the Embassy of Kenya in Seoul where that is the only way to resolve it.
  • Publish aggregate counts — “31 members across 12 counties” — with no names or identifying detail.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your details to anyone.
  • Publish the member register, or any part of it that names people.
  • Share your information with Kenyan or Korean authorities other than the embassy, and then only what your own request requires.

Who can see what

Community administrators can see the member register. Consular desk handlers can see requests. Those are separate permissions held by different people — handling someone's passport enquiry does not come with access to everyone's phone number.

Internal notes on a request are visible only to the desk. Updates marked as visible to you are the ones you see on your tracking page.

Keeping it

Member records last until you delete your account. Consular requests are kept for two years after they close, so that a case which resurfaces has a history. Deleting your account removes your profile but leaves closed requests in place with the account link severed.

Your call

You can view and edit everything on your profile, unsubscribe from email from any message we send, and delete your account outright at any time. To ask what we hold on you, email kenyakorea@statotec.com.
